Are These Hidden Stressors Affecting you? Find Balance with these Top Tips

Life can get incredibly busy, especially when juggling family, work and everything else in between. Sometimes, this overwhelm is more than just having too much on – it's stress. Having gone through a stress burnout five years ago, I've learnt the lesson the hard way.

Uncover how hidden stressors might be affecting you and learn how to find balance today.

Do You Recognise These Signs?

Stress can affect your body and mind in ways you may not have realised:

Physical Symptoms: Tiredness, headaches, muscle pains, digestive issues, weight changes and stubborn fat.

Emotional Symptoms: Anger, irritability, mood swings, anxiety, and inability to relax and be fully present.

Sleep Troubles: Difficulty falling asleep, restless nights, or too much sleep.

Behavioral Changes: Changes in eating habits, cravings for unhealthy foods, low mood, lack of motivation, keeping busy, overworking, controlling, procrastinating, and mindless scrolling on social media. All of these can be signs of chronic stress!

What's Really Behind Your Stress?

Stress isn’t just about external pressures, it's also triggered by:

Eating Habits: Dieting, skipping meals, not balancing your meals appropriately.

Self-Pressure: Aiming for perfection, controlling, comparing yourself with others, self-criticism, unrealistic expectations.

Lack of 'Me Time': Not making enough time to rest, relax and have fun.

Lack of Movement, Dehydration, Poor Sleep Patterns

Simple Tips to Manage Stress

Take Breaks: Set time aside during the week for rest, fun and relaxation.

Move Your Body: Regular exercise, even a short walk, can reduce stress levels.

Nourish your Body: Avoid dieting and skipping meals. Reduce sugars, alcohol and refined carbs. Eat more balanced meals with nutritious foods.

Prioritise Sleep: Establish a solid sleep routine for improved rest and recovery.

Practice Self-Kindness: Be gentler with yourself and celebrate small wins.

Connect with Others: Spending time with friends and loved ones provides support and perspective.

Journaling, Meditation, Gratitude: Great techniques to detox and declutter your mind.
